Truck Battery Charging Guide

Why Charging Matters More Than You Think

Most premature truck battery failures are not manufacturing defects — they are charging problems. A battery that is consistently undercharged sulfates; one that is overcharged loses water and overheats. Getting the charging right is the single biggest lever for battery life.

  2. Absorption — constant voltage; current tapers as the battery reaches full charge
  3. Float — low maintenance voltage; holds the battery at full charge without overcharging
